2014 CFID Awards Presentation

Dr. Natalie Prystajecky, Chair of the CFID Awards Committee, presided over the CFID awards ceremony.

Dr. Jerome Leis was the recipient of the Juan A. Embil Trainee Award for Infectious Disease Research. Receiving the award on his behalf was Dr. Allison McGeer (left) from Dr. Susan Richardson, President of CFID.
Sophie Felletier (left) from Queen’s University and Ontario Public Health Laboratory, received one of the CFID Summer Studentship Awards from Dr. Natalie Prystajecky, Chair of the CFID Awards Committee.

The 2014 CFID Awards ceremony took place on April 3, 2014 during the AMMI Canada /CACMID Annual Conference in Victoria, BC. Winners included:

  • Dr. Juan A. Embil Trainee Award – Dr. Jerome A. Leis, University of Toronto
  • Dr. John M. Embil Mentorship Award – Dr. Curtis Cooper, University of Ottawa
  • Safe Drinking Water Pilot Project Award – Dr. Younggy Kim, McMaster University
  • CFID Summer Studentship Awards:
    • Alex Rewegan, McMaster University
    • Sophie Felletier, Queens University
    • Lauren Smith, McMaster University
