CFID Safe Drinking Water Pilot Project Grant

The award was established by Dr. Michel Bergeron from a restricted fund for the promotion of studies investigating one of Canada's most valuable resources, water. Notably, one in eight people around the world do not have access to safe drinking water leading to significant global morbidity and mortality. It is intended as seed funding to promote research in this field. One award of $25,000 will be conferred at a frequency determined by the CFID Board.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Currently holds a Faculty position at a Canadian Post-Secondary Institution
  • Preference will be given to members of AMMI Canada or CHICA-Canada working in Medical Microbiology or Infectious Diseases
  • Submit a summary of research achievements by two years after receipt of the award

Applications are due no later than January 21, 2022.
