CFID AMMI-CRN Catalyst Award in ID/MM

The CFID AMMI-CRN Catalyst Award supports infectious diseases and medical microbiology trainees or early career researchers (ECRs) in conducting pilot studies for randomized controlled trials (RCTs), observational studies, or quality improvement initiatives. The award is intended to foster early research career development and promote collaborative, multi-centre work across AMMI-CRN members.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • ID/MM trainees (resident or fellow), MD or PhD students at any Canadian centre conducting research under an AMMI‑CRN supervisor.
  • Early career researchers (within five years of first independent research appointment). Eligible leaves extend the ECR window at twice the time taken.
  • Projects may be pilot work for future RCTs, observational studies, or quality improvement studies, ideally involving multiple centres.

Application Process:

  • Deadline: February 13, 2026.
  • Maximum 3‑page proposal (single‑spaced, Times New Roman 12‑pt) describing project plan, applicant/supervisor research experience, and relevance to career development.
  • Support letter from AMMI‑CRN supervisor (1 page).
  • CCV biosketch of applicant and supervisor (if applicable).
  • Detailed budget and justification (1 page).
