2015 CFID Awards Presentation

The 2015 CFID Awards ceremony took place on April 16, 2015 during the AMMI Canada /CACMID Annual Conference in Charlottetown, PEI. Winners included:

  • Dr. Juan A. Embil Trainee Award for Infectious Disease Research – Dr. Derek R. MacFadden, University of Toronto
  • Dr. John M. Embil Mentorship Award – Dr. Sharon L. Walmsley, University of Toronto
  • Safe Drinking Water Pilot Project Award – Dr. Anna Majury, PhD, DVM, Queens University & Public Health Ontario
  • AMMI Canada Medical Student Research Award – Christina Thorton, University of Calgary
  • CFID Summer Studentship Awards:
    • Christopher Chiang, McMaster University
    • Melissa Phuong, McMaster University
Dr. Derek MacFadden (L) received the Juan A. Embil Trainee Research Award from Dr. Susan Richardson (R) , President of CFId.
Dr. Anna Majury from Queen’s University and Ontario Public Health Laboratory received the Safe Drinking Water Pilot Project Award. Receiving the award on her behalf was Dr. Gerald Evans (L), Study Co-investigator, from Dr. Susan Richardson, President of CFID.
Dr. Sharon Walmsley received the Embil Mentorship Award. Receiving the award on her behalf was Dr. Adrienne Chan (L) from Dr. Susan Richardson, President of CFID.
